Sessions gives remarks constitutional principles forum

Attorney General Jeff Sessions will deliver remarks at the Heritage Foundation’s Legal Strategy Forum on Constitutional principles and the rule of law on Thursday.

Sessions, the top law enforcement officer in the U.S. has been a U.S. attorney and federal prosecutor. He considers himself a close adherent to the Constitution, often citing the document as grounds for action by his Justice Department, including the recent rescinding of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program as well as his efforts to end “sanctuary cities” across the country. He has also vowed to pursue criminal gangs like MS-13, which this week he formally designated as a priority for DOJ’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces.

In remarks in Philadelphia this past July, Sessions said that he does his “best every day” to be faithful to the laws of the U.S. and Constitution and to fulfill the goals that he and President Trump share, which includes defending Americans from “international crime.”
