The Washington Wizards had everything going their way early in Game 1 against the Celtics. Things took a turn for the worse after Markieff Morris, a key contributor for Washington, suffered an ankle injury in the second quarter.
Not long after he went down, the Wizards announced he would not return:
Morris immediately crumbled to the floor after landing awkwardly on Al Horford‘s foot, and although he made the shot and hit the ensuing free throw on the foul call, he exited the game and went to the locker room with the assistance of the training staff in visible pain.
The Wizards have struggled since his departure, and while he won’t return for Game 1, they have to hope Morris will be ready for Game 2.
