We aren’t yet a month into the 2017 Major League Baseball season, but things have gone pretty terribly for the Giants so far. Manager Bruce Bochy has been in the hospital, star position player Buster Posey was hit in the head with a pitch and landed on the concussion disabled list and then, on Friday, we learned ace Madison Bumgarner will miss six-to-eight weeks after
injuring his pitching shoulder on a dirt bike.
Oh, and the Giants are 6-10 and in last place in the NL West so far. They’ve lost three of their last four and head to Colorado for a three-game series. And, well, when the “things are going terribly” narrative fits, it fits like a glove:
It sounds like a harmless fender bender, so some laughter is perhaps in order. It’s been a bumpy ride so far this season for the Giants. The good news is there’s still plenty of time to turn things around.
